INTRODUCTION

Judges in the Classroom

An introduction to the three branches of government and the role of a judge. Through several "you be the judge" case scenarios, students get a hands-on feel for what it's like to sit on the bench. This is the most requested lesson for elementary schools, and can be adjusted in length to leave more time for student Q&A.

OBJECTIVES

Students will: 

- Learn about the three branches of government.
- Learn about the intent of a law.
- Practice critical thinking as they learn the difference between a law and a rule through several case scenarios.
