San Bernardino County students host Judge Joseph Widman for a one-hour lesson in civics.

Connect with Your Court

The map below displays court locations within each county. The location listed as the Main Courthouse may provide the most information and may be the only county location open for tours. The contact information and website links will help you connect and learn more about local opportunities.

Educators in every county in California have access to a "civics pro"--a judge! From inviting a judge to your classroom to inviting your classroom to the court, the California Courts want to connect with your students. Each connection provides a better understanding of our democracy.

In areas where a courthouse may be too far from your school for a visit, most of our volunteers make remote visits.

ESL, non-traditional learning settings, and clubs are all encouraged to connect with their local court. Questions? Email: judicialoutreach@jud.ca.gov

THERE'S A BUZZ OUT THERE:

Elementary School Teacher, San Diego

I thought the program was outstanding! It was nice for the children to see that judges are normal people too.

Judge, Sacramento County

“I really enjoyed working with the teacher and the students.  I had about 10 students who actively participated and we had a great discussion."

5th Grade Student, Butte County

It was great! (smiley face)
