This interactive lesson is the most flexible and most popular lesson for elementary schools. A "You Be the Judge" guides students through scenarios where students debate, then decide whether or not a law was broken.

In this lesson, students will:

--learn about the three branches of government
--practice critical thinking, and learn the difference between a law and a rule
--learn about the intent of a law
--learn how to think like a judge
