About the event

Put your request in today for a visit from a judge in February to commemorate:

“African Americans and Labor” (Grades 8-12)

"This is Thurgood Marshall" (Grades 3-12) an introduction to the man who became the first African-American to take the oath of office as a Supreme Court Justice on Oct 2, 1967. Students will learn about his work as a lawyer, and a leader of the civil rights movement. Students will learn how as a young child in Baltimore he gained interest in law and justice, and worked to ascend to the nation's highest court.
